The route
Our journey took us around the central "loop" – if you will – of the Northern Line. First down the City branch, from Euston to Kennington, and then back up to Euston via the Charing Cross branch.

The loop itself

We considered 17 drinks to be mildly excessive, even for us; so we planned to meet at Euston at 11 am, and then took the tube to our first boozer at King's Cross. The aim was to visit 16 establishments between 11 and midnight, which meant roughly 45 minutes per pub. Until the latter stages of the day – when the whole undertaking deteriorated with breathtaking speed – we kept fairly rigidly to our proposed schedule.
